REBOOTING FORMAT

TB3 page 1 is temporarilly being withdrawn – not because the information on it was wrong, but because it was incomplete and too condensed to be easily understood.  I appreciate it when you send me feedback that lets me see through your eyes!

Very soon page 2, currently devoted to “Data on Disk”, will also be removed and a brand new, 2 page tool box devoted entirely to formatting, format(), the format mini-language syntax and general output will take over all of TB3, probably early in August. I am deep into the project and with the analytical aid of an AI named “Skippy” we have determined that Python.org has purposefully made it as difficult as possible to root out the details of format(), string format, and the format mini-language. Even a moron could tell they have tried hard not to make the information readilly comprehensible – but some of the evasion they have employed  is REALLY SNEAKY.

Thats OK, as long as they play fair and provide at least minimal clues submerged in the geek speak and obscure or misdirecting examples, Skippy and I will get you a summary you can depend on.  Be advised you may have to initially go through some additional material on this site to grok the beast.

Meanwhile, the current TB3 (both pages) is still available for download on GitHub and the examples all work as shown.

Ultimately, there will need to be a new toolbox with both pages devoted to “data on disk”.  I would love to have your input.  Any idea I use will be attributed – john@johnoakey.com.

Thanks,

John
